Parenting is not always an easy job!  We offer parents the opportunity to work on a one-to-one basis with a skilled and experienced parent coach who is able to listen empathetically without judgement and to offer support in seeing new perspectives, developing new skills and finding the best approach and way forward for you and your family

This process really can help you gain more harmony in your relationships and to feel a sense of being in charge of your life and your destiny.

We also lead groups on a regular basis too: for more details on Parent Connect groups, see the programme details listed on this site or contact us directly to find a group near you.

Many of us live hectic lives and as parents, we are often plagued with feelings of guilt and inadequacy, telling ourselves:

“We should be able to do it better”;

“I need to spend more time with my children”,

“I’m worried and I don’t know what to do about: my child struggling at school, not doing his homework, mixing with a bad crowd, experimenting with drugs, sex etc”

“Am I doing it right?”

Whether you choose to work on a one to one basis with a coach or to join a group, you will be encouraged to reflect on the relationship that you have with yourself and with your child, we will identify what works and what doesn't work; we will explore any of the barriers that get in the way of creating warm, connected and authentic relationships in the family.

Throughout the coaching process you will have the opportunity to improve your communication skills, learn how to manage conflict and find ways of working together with others  (including your partner)  which promote a sense of wellbeing and stability.

We will help you to gain greater insight into the phases of development that affect children’s behaviour as well as understanding how to support them in all aspects of their identity, socially, emotionally, intellectually etc.

The intention of our work with families is:

For children – to develop self esteem and self worth, learn to be open and honest about their feelings, become aware of their own needs and those of others and to be  open to find solutions to their problems.

For Parents – to gain awareness of their approach to parenting and accept themselves. To know when they need support and how to ask for it.
To develop communication skills: listening, empathy and ways of setting boundaries and dealing with conflicts peacefully. To have greater choice about how to behave

Together – for families to find the answers to everyday situations. To have fun and enjoy each others company and to develop a sense of responsibility and express caring behaviour together and in their communities.
