ParentConnect : Tracy Seed and Janet Wilson
ParentConnect is a six week programme of two hour sessions, for parents with children of any age. We meet regularly as a group on a fortnightly basis. Contact us directly to find out about the nearest group to you. What does the six week programme cover?
  
• We explore our beliefs, values, dreams and desires and consider what is important about being a parent • Develop greater self awareness, accept our human-ness, know what we neeed and how to get it!
• Consider the phases of children's development and the role of feelings and needs on actions and behaviour - Step into the world of others • Identify keys to parenting, reflect on the needs and desires of children and practise communication in negotiating peacefully
• Practise empathy and presence, and increase communication skills • Integrate what has been learnt and develop a vision for the future

I would like to see more groups like this which could help me to look at my needs as a parent, recognise my own feelings and practise empathy and what this means as a parent to my child.
